[Letterhead: British & Foreign Anti Slavery Society. Am I Not a Man and a Brother?]
C. W. Pennock,
Since the reception of thy note, relative to the emancipated slaves, I have mentioned the circumstance to a number of our friends, and have spoken of it in our anti-slavery meetings; with the hope that suitable places would be found for the family on their arrival here; but as yet we have had no application for their services.
If situations can be found for them in the country, it would be preferable, to adding more to the number already too crowded in our city.
