A testimony for family meeting and keeping negro servants

              A Testimony for Family Meeting and keeping Nigros Servants untill
they are in some measure brought into a Christian Life which is 
Duty of every Master & Mistress of familyes to endeavor to brng them 
to that they may be may be free men indeed. 
Levitt 25 & 44: Bothe thy Bond men & thy bond maids which thou shall have shall 
be of ye Heathen that are Round about you of them shall yee 
buy bondmen & bond maids. 
verse 45: Moreover of the children of strangers that do soiourn among you 
of them shall yee buy & of their families that are with you 
which they begatt in yor Land and they shall be yor possession. 
46 and yee shall take them as an Inheritance for yor children after 
you to Inherit [?] for a possession. they shall be yor bond men for 
ever, but over yor brethren & children of Israel, ye shall not 
Rule one over another with Rigor. 
Colos. 4.1 Masters give into yor Servants that which is just & equall, knowing 
[?ty] yee also have a master in Heaven. 
 Ephesians 6.9 And yee Masters do the same things unto them as forbearing threatening 
knowing that yor maste r also in Heaven. Neither is there respect of Persons with him. 
Jerem. 34.14 At the end of Seaven years lett ye go every man his brother 
an Hebrew wch. hath been sold unto thee &c. 
Exod. 21.5.6: And if ye Servant shall plainly say I love my 
Master my Wife & my children. I will not go out free then his Master shall bring 
him unto the Judges he shall also bring him to the door post 
and his Master shall bore his ear through with an aul & hee shall 
serve him forever. And if my brother an Hebrew be so served 
much more an ethyopian or black that is a a heathen by nature 
except thou can first instruct him & bring him unto Christianity or a Christian 
Life that he may be a free man. Indeed & in truth which all true Christians 
ought to endeavor bye Instructing of them  in ye ways of Treuth & Righteousness 
& keeping family meetings with 
them in their own familyes or bringing of them to such publick meeting 
where they may be Instructed that we may be clear of their 
blood, for it is a Testimony living in my heart that is our duty to 
Instruct our familyes as Abraham did: whether they were 
borne in his house or bought with mony & happy are they that 
take ye advices of ye Servant of ye Lord Joshua... 
Josh. 24.15 but as for me & my house we will serve ye Lord, so it is our 
duty to do our Endeavors to bring our familyes to serve ye Lord that so they may come to ye 
knowledge of his ways and be saved, or else to sett any of them free in our own Will & Time we may brin
ym into greater bondage to sin and satan.
