12/14 35 Broad Street Buildings, London Nov. 28 1854 My Dear Friend, I have been prevented writing the leader I had intended for the Cit. and on second thoughts I have concluded it might be filling up the no. too much with my own writing if I sent another long article. So I think you had better let my introductory article, signed Citizen of the World commence on the 1st page, and let my short address to Our Readers begin the last half. My other manuscript articles will nearly fill that department, with what you will like to add! If you prefer to wait for another steamer from England before you go to press, I will send by it a few items in continuation of "facts and figures. but perhaps you had better get out the 1st no. immediately without waiting to hear from me again. In my next I will send a list of papers and persons to which I should like a copy of this first no. sent by post. On the other side I will note the order nw hich the articles may come. But if any change in this order that is desireable to make, please do it.
