| Description | Legal document. Property indenture between Thomas Seamor of Gosport and Evan Evans of Loudon. Cursive. Dark brown ink. On the recto, a 19-line long cadel capital "T" begins the document. Remainder of "This Indenture" is written in 2-line long bold letters. Throughout the document, words such as "under" "to have" "by which" and "whereas" appear in bold. Wide left margin. Bottom of the document is folded up and sealed with a red wax pendent seal. The folded up portion contains the signature of Thomas Seamor. Verso of the document says, "Sealed and delivered in the presence of" and contains the signatures of John Young, Jonathon Welch, and Jesem(?) Gotmor(?). Verso also contains some modern writing. Metal point ruling. Prickings on left and right edges. Top edge of the parchment is wavy. |
