Reply to an epistle : a document has made its appearance in the public prints, and has been extensively circulated by hand-bills, purporting to be an epistle from a Yearly Meeting of Friends, held in the city of New-York in the fifth-month, 1829; but which is well known to have been issued by an association distinguished by the appellation of Hicksites
"The 'Yearly Meeting of Friends of New-York' having adjourned previously to the appearance of the epistle here referred to ... it was thought by a number of Friends, that no time should be lost in correcting the misrepresentations contained in the paper to which the above is a reply. Samuel Wood, Joseph Bowne, John Wood, of Allen St. William Waring, John Griscom, John R. Willis, William F. Mott, on behalf of themselves and other Friends. New York, 6mo. 8, 1829."
