Ann Arbor, Feb. 25th, 1907My dear Sisters:The sad results of the Election in Philadelphia may possibly have reached you through the London papers or possibly a paragraph in the Nation, for Phila. has alas become a by-word for bad government even in the Eng. House of Commons, and this election seems to show she deserves it. Frank wrote Eleanor after it was all over- "There are some bright spots about today. We are much further along the road to civic independence & decency than we were two years ago, & the City Party now has a larger minority of good men
