Cape May 7 mo 7 1865Dear ChellyThe water in the bay is very nice & we are getting along elegant. Anna cries when she goes into the sea & father takes her away from the waves. There is a bay [?] which she hasn't any power, she has so [?]. I've got a nice little bed & Anna has a little roll with bathing clothes on that mother [?]. It hasn't rained at all while we have been here. There are pleasant views all about here- yesterday we went to the Depot & got Aunt Anne & Cousin Emma & we went across the field [......] & got into the marsh & got our feet very muddy & when we got to the Depot the man said if we had gone any further we would have got to a place where we could have got out. Father brok his spectacles- when we were in the bath he sat on them & mother has got a queer bathing hat- there was a loss yes
