Newport 8th mo 12/67My dear father,We have been having a very time here, and I hope thee has there. I suppose thee sees some very wonderful things in England. I am sorry thee was so much disappointed about the whales spouting. I thought I would write to thee as I had a little time before I went to bed. We have just rec'd this afternoon two little letters from Arthur & Johnny in one big envelope. Arthur sent a letter to me, and Johnny sent one to Alfred. They are very cute little letters. This morning we went to the beach to bathe, Anna Cope went in too, for the first time. Mary Anna Longstreth has a Bible School for us children, every first day afternoon, I like it very well, we read verses in the Bible, and she explains it to us. We have hired a row-boat, from a man that I don't know. I sleep over in the other house with Alfred. When is thee coming home, if thee answers this letter please tell me. Last 4th day there was a yacht race, George Merritt took a good many of us
