              Haverford 5th mo 23. 18362nd day afternoonDear Mother,As the Managers are out at the school, and I have such a good opportunity, why should I not spend a few moments that might otherwise be employed in doing nothing, in writing to thee, inasmuch as I have a little something which I should like to have, now in remembrances, which I wish sent out, and I may [...page damage...] an opportunity of mentioning it to thee, before our bundle comes, thee will request Andrew McIntire, when he comes for the keys some morning to bring up a file of old newspapers from the store, and if thee will send them out with our bundle I shall be very much obliged to thee. I want them to press plants in (Mary says "sure") But never mind she'll see some day. Tell her that I have pressed some already and I rather imagine that is more than she has- and I have examined and found the names of them too.About a dozen or 14 of the managers are out here. I wish that Father was with them. If thee writes to him before he returns from NY tell him that if he lets the Parents of the New York boys who are here know of his going home, he will be likely to be troubled with some bundles.I must conclude dear mother withAffectionately-thy son Thomas P.
