North East Harbor10 mo 4 1908Dear LillieI am somewhat surprised that one who sold Lehigh stock at the top of the Market while her father held on to his should think of consulting her father about future stock speculations—it only shows the force of habit. However here is my Bunsby opinion—When I advised aunts Sue & Lizzie last fall to accept the offer of the Mortgage Trust Co. there was an unusual opportunity for good reinvestment & that somewhat influenced my opinion—If I was sure that the same opportunity now existed I would give thee the same advice—I think the Mortgage Trust Banks are good for 4% as most 4% securities, & I think it not unlikely that part or perhaps all of the one first interest which has been witheld for some years past will be paid when the company winds up its affairs—but when that time comes what will be the condition of the money market? Are we to have another era of inflation & stocks up in the skies? Or is the dirigible baboon to lie on the ground half smacked? These are questions which even the wise woman of [?] would be puzzled to so answer, & we who are not so wise have no alternative but to toss up the penny.Yesterday I recived a notice which
