This deed made the 19th day of August A.D. 1874 between James A Wright and Francis R. Cope, survivors[?] of themselves and Stephen Colwell, Trustees of the “Pennsylvania Freedman Association” of the first part, and William Brown, Preston Padgett, George Collaway, Oliver Thomspon, and Gustavus Presdon, of the second part, [?] that in Consideration of five dollars it have paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, the partners of the first part, do grant unto the parties of the second part, all of that Certain lot of parcel of land, and [?] there unto affectaning, lying and being in the County of Bedford, in the State of Virginia, on the eastern side of the Lynchburg & Salem Turnpike road, near the town of Liberty-- being the acre lot and premises Conveyed by Alvin Varner and J. W. Shoemaker to the parties of the first part, on the __ day of May 1866 by deed recorded in the County Court [?] office of Bedford County, in deed Book 22-- at page 117. In Trust to the
