Awbury 2 mo. 4. 1905Dear LillieI was very glad to get thy letter this morning but marvel much that at our respective ages I should be consulted by thee on a question of ethics. Besides on this subject of a Home for old Friends I thought we discussed the matter last summer at North East-- but perhaps it was not while thee was with us that Sarah Emlen Moore wrote to me on the subject.I do not wish to throw cold water on any [?] ardent young souls such as S.E.M. or my granddaughter who is now thy [?] intention for bettering the condition of the world. Like Davids desire for building a house for the Lord it may be well that it is in their hearts & cold blooded fellows such as I must be careful how they check them. Therefore
