Woodbourne6 mo. 17th 1902 My dear Chellie I sh'd have replied to thy first letter before we left home, but amide the multitude of afairs to be attended to there besides the packing up for the journey, made it impossible especially as the weather changed to a warmer temperature. The heat was almost over--powering the day before we left, and if it had not become cooler that night I do not know how we could have borne the journey but a welcome shower that evening gave us
