8.21.1862Dear WifeI received thy letter by the hand of the Cope family this evening, being glad to get it as also the information conveyed by word of mouth that you were all doing well. We were exceedingly glad to get the addition to our party & have them all I hope comfortably accommodated. Father & Mother have a room opposite Amelia Laning a good [-------] & Anne & Carrie Lane are communicating with Lilly & Chelly. If Mother afterward prefers it they will change with her - but except that it is a communicating room, the one mother has is the best. Eliza & Arthur have gone into the room adjoining Ellie Stokes, so that Eliza can take charge of Ellie & [M----] also. Nancy was perfectly delighted to see Eliza. She has had a pretty lonely time of it there being no girls here she liked to associate with. We are all doing
