As we have a little time before dinner I may as well use it in writing one of the three letters I propose sending thee particularly as I can let thee know now a little about our plans. We did not have much time in Baltimore or I should have sent word from there, but the train did not get in till near the time that we expected the boat w'd leave & when we reached the boat & found it did not go for half an hour we were so far from the centre of the town that I c'd not reach the telegraph officer.
