My Dear Wife I rec'd thy Postal card this evening announcing thy intention of returning next week with Margaret & Alfred. This I suppose was written before thee received my last letter & was therefore not induced by anything I said. Let us know in time to meet thee so that Alfred can be free to look after Margaret - unless thee induces the latter to come with thee - though unless she is fond of the smell of paint I fear we cannot hold out much inducement to her now. The painting however has not [interferd] with Anna & Carrie having company but as it has been confined as yet
