Germantown 11mo 21. 1853 Dear Sister We recd thy epistle to mother & [Les] & were glad to hear of the successful prosecution of your perilous enterprise. We had previously recd through Frank Yarnall information of your arrival - We have been pretty well since you left with the exception of colds. Mother has had a pretty severe one for a few days past but seems to be getting over it now. Grand father is about as well as when you left. Les [-----] is quite ill with Typhoid fever - Thats all the family news- We have been discussing this evening the subject of getting you home & various propositions have been submitted & rejected & consequently we leave off where we begun with the
