My Dear Annie
I have
been very sorry to see day after day passing away without
any acknowledgment sent of thy very interesting & welcome
lettter, which was a real treat to me. I wish there was some
hope of thy getting as good a one in reply but what with
colds & headache the little wit I ever had seems to have
departed, for which loss I console with my corespondents
every time one of my stupid effusions goes to the Post
Office.- I think a visit from thee & Clemmy would have an
enlivening effect & when summer comes so must you.- It was
very kind to send me that excellent Photo of Uncle Daniel,
after my negligence in the
