Woodbourne 11 mo. 20. 1876
My very Dear Friend,
Clementine Cope,
Wilt thou be So kind, as to go with me to Florida, about the middle of January next? to that delightgul clime!
Where the Rose & Catalpa forever Shall bloom,
Where the chase cannot tire, nor the deer ever fail
Nor the mockingbird's music, 'ere cease in the vale.
For the sake of enjoying thy pleasant, agreeable company I will pay all expenses there & back.
Have long thought, there was not another person in this World, I would prefer to Dear thee!
Long Since, I was captivated
