My beloved brother
Thy letter of love and sympathy was very acceptable for tho' our friends cannot do much for us just now we do appreciate their sympathy. I am sorry I cannot tell thee that dear Katy is better, her fever still continues tho her temperature is one degree down this morning. I believe I told thee the typhoid symptoms had disappeared, which conclusion I jumped at from hearing the Dr. say the trouble about the abdomen was gone, and tongue clearing off, but on saying something like it to the Dr., he replied he thought they seemed to be developing much more then in the first weeks of the sickness.
