My dear daughter,



I have a dear little girl here now to keep me company and whom I wake up in the morning one of the first thing I see is her bright little face. She never cries and altho she "puts other things out" she never get "put out" herself and where does thee think she came from. Why she came from Newport and the best of all is that anytime I see her she puts me in mind of another dear  little girl at Newport who sent her here to keep me company until she can come to me. It was so kind of her and I am so much obliged and when my own dear little girl comes to me I shall still have use for this one, but in another way.
