My dear cousin,
I recd. thine & Cousin Franks joint letters a day or two since with much pleasure tho’ it reminded me very forcibly that I had not answered your last, particularly thy, very nice & long favor wh. I can assure thee I very much appreciated. I hope friends will excuse me if I am a little long in answering letters, some times on the ground of professional occupations—tho’ I must not beg off altogether in that plea, as there are some pleasures as well as duties to occupy
