This is the anniversary of my birthday, which was in 1819.

Thy affectionate and descriptive letter came to me on the 24th just a little after I had received a book with a winning title, put up in dainty style worthy of thyself. Thy story of your life on Mt. Desert and graphic pictures of beautiful scenery on that island and the near New England Coast would do finely for some pages in an historic volume of your family history.
