My dear cousin Clemmie
I am half ashamed of my self for not having written to thee before, but must plead business or busy-ness as my excuse. I have been very busy & more & more so every day, so fearing I should have no time to write to thee I have snatched a few moments this evening & must beg thee to excuse any evidences of haste thee may see.
