My dear Father,
Thee will think I have been very naughty in not answering thy letter since it was so kind of thee to fine time to write it to us so soon, although my letter did not reach me as soon as it should. Thee's an excellent correspondent papa, we have begun to think, & we especially appreciate thy goodness when we know how very much occupied thee must be. It was very trying about your papers not reaching you in Boston. I hope they will turn up all right soon, & the business close very satisfactorily. But be sure thee finds time to go to Paris; it wld.
