Lake Mohawk My dear Father & Mother, Your recent letters came to me several days ago, but we have been so continually on the go that there never seemed to be a moment of time to answer them. The resources of this place have proven much greater than we expected at first, & I think we are all of us sorry that the time of our departure is so near. We expect to leave for Overlook tomorrow morning in a four-horse team which Uncle Tom has engaged to come across from Kingston to meet us, taking Mary Newlin with us. She had intended going home alone the next day, & we have persuaded here that it w'ld be much wiser to join our
