Dear Mother & sisters,
I think I shall take to writing to you in a journal form as I often have little times when I can sit down for a few minutes & no longer. I recd thy letter Carry of the 9th wh. was very nice & also the cuffs, wh. were also very nice, & I am very much obliged to whoever did “’em” & that person was mother I reckon, & it was very good of her,, & they were just what I wanted, & now if you can only sent me a white skirt I shall be so g[ ] for I can hardly get along [?], as I find the bro’t will hardly live another washing.
On 4th day eve I took tea at Aunt Cheston’s, & had such a nice time. Altho’ she is so feeble that she was
