              Burlington 8th mo. 26th 18195th day afternoonMy Dear SisterThy very acceptable letter was conveyed to me at Bloomsdale on 4th day week- and let me assure thee, its pleasing contents entirely eradicated from my mind all unfavorable impressions—I passed 1 week very agreeably with my friend Mary Ann & returned to this place 2nd day evening in good health & tolerable spirits- both at Bloomsdale & Burlington our beloved H & R have often been the subject of thought & conversation & we have frequently wished you could contrive to make us a visit- Mary A wished me to write while I was with her & endeavour to prevail on you to come & spend 1st day with them- but I knew it would be unavailing—JTB was at Jes’s & informed me he seen H & thyself sitting by the window at our mansion in 4th Street- I hope Dr. & M A Thomas will not be discouraged but call again when we return.Thee asks how we are coming on at B- If I understand thy meaning- Thee wishes to know concerning our Health, How we employ our time etc—I answer we are all well & pass our time very agreeably at Cousin AB’s we see but little company & that is just what I like- indeed
