Philada 2nd mo 8th [1806]
Dear Henry
I receivd
thy letter, and am Pleasd to hear that there is a day set
apart for letter writing as I hope we shall hear oftener
from you, as writing is next to seing and talking with you,
to tell you (for I include Frances) that I love you, and
long to see you, would be like a tale twice told,
your Cousin H D wrote from New Castle the 5th of the
2d moth that he was just setting of and expected to be at
sea in 48 hours, was much pleasd with the Captain, they were
detaind 2 weeks by the Ice, He seemd to go of in pretty good
sperits, as he went with the approbation of his Friends, I
have the pleasure to inform the that he appeard to be in an
improving way, I hope he will be preferred and kept in the
road that leads to peace
I am glad to hear that the
is contented, and willing to stay and get all the
instruction the can, I hope thee will get through all the
branches so as to come home next Summer
