3d moth 6th 1839
My Dear aunt
I expect this
will be the last letter I shall write to thee this session
as the time is drawing near when we shall go home. we are
now reviewing and it is not so hard as I expected it would
be we have to be very industrious [about] our studies as
some of them are very hard particularly the history and I am
very much afraid I shall fail in that at examination as the
greater part of it I have not learned for I have not been in
that class, all the session. Thomas Kite’s wife is here
spending a day or two and her daughter also. I suppose thee
has heard of the little boy who has been so ill here he was
taken with the measles and that layed the foundation for the
consumption and after suffering for a long time he was taken
away at three o clock in the morning of the first of spring
we had no school on six or seventh day but we all went to
our school rooms and red our bibles and on seventh day
morning we were taken in
