Dear Father
Lilly and Chelly having been keeping up such an active correspondence by the last two steamers, I thought I would reserve my efforts untill they had got through.
We received a letter from uncle Tom inclosing a letter from thee informing us of the loss of thy masticators, it
would have been remarkably unfortunate if thee had not had
an extra set with thee. I hope by this time thee is
enjoying thyself on terra firma, but since the difference of
time between where thee is and where we are is so great, we
find it hard to guess what thee is about. We received
