Remembering our conversation, when we met at
Alfred Garrett's, on the Revised Discipline, I merely wish
to refer thee to the Article on the Institution of the
Discipline in first vol. of Friends Library. I suppose it
was prepared by thy dear Father, as he was one of the
Editors of that work, and its perspicuous style would
indicate.--I do not suppose thee thought of setting aside
all rules, but some of those relating to conduct, including
marriage. As to this latter the introductory remarks,
written by Thos P Cope, explain the reasons for the rules
very clearly in a concise manner.
