My dear
friend
Rachel C. Evans.
In carrying out our
program for Switzerland, the weather has suddenly changed
from intense heat and a very long drought to a rain of
several days, which while most grateful to the parched
country, interferes materially with views of the charming
Lake of Geneva and the mountains that environ it. Instead
therefore, of our usual outdoor life, this gives just the
opportunity for which I've been wishing, to acknowledge some
of the very kind farewell greetings, received as we left our
native shores. The weather being so variable, it has seemed
best for one to remain in this most comfortable
Eng.-speaking pension, with a delightful out-look upon the
Lake, while my dear Hannah has gone into the
