Locust Shade. 3. 15. 1865
My dear Annie
Does
thee think I have quite forgotten thee and all thy kindness,
& my delightful visit to you? That I have been such a long
while without writing to thee. Indeed I have not, & never
shall I hope- but my wonderings [early] terminated last 7th
day & since then I have had a very bad cold, which thee
knows makes one lazy. - I have wanted to know how thee
faired after our parting on the hill. My walk was brisk & I
did not keep Maggie’s [---] waiting long, and did not feel
tired. I fear thee did not fare so well. Our visit to our
Wilmington friends was very pleasant.
