              Dear BrotherA letter of thine has just come to hand in which thee mentions the arrival of William Laurie. I have no doubt but that thee was very agreeably surprised upon seeing him?  he will doubtless be a fine addition to your circle???????????? I am glad to see you have the company of [----] Scattergood I beleive him to be a very good man?  He was at Weston 2 whole summers while I was there and spoke frequently in meeting?????? I hope your [-----] & butter was very good? take care thee dont choak thyself eating it????????? I dont know how I could send those books to thee conveniently? but perhaps I may bring them myself before long?? wont that do ????????????????????????????????? But I tell thee what?? I sha'nt write thee many more letters if thee dont acknowledge the receipt of them???? there was one in particular that I wrote in verse and with which I send thee some [----------]?I dont know to this moment that thee ever got them??????? pray tell me in thy next ????????? O dear O???dear O??? Bill???? I'me tired of writing with such a pen???? and I'me too lazy to mend it????? so give my love to Wm Laurie and tell him to write to me???? write thy-self soon????????
