My Dear Ellenor
I think it is time to acknowledge the receipt of thy letter. It was pleasant to find thee had not forgot thy Grandmother. I want to see thee. I would rather talk than write to thee. I hope it won't be long before we shall have the pleasure of haveing thee with us. We have not Horses and can't with convenience make thee a visit, but I Hope Mother will make out to go when the Committee meet; she wishes it. Caroline is learning French and is much occupied with that, and the Reading society. Allfred is very busily gardening: he has got a good many Flowers bloom & seems much Delighted with them. We have had a man gardening for us; got the walk new gravelled and it looks very nice; with wishes for thy Health and Happenings, I conclude thy loveing grandmother
