A head-and-shoulders publicity portrait of Thelma Schnee, a writer and performer whose work was seen on Broadway throughout the 1940s. Her exact association with the Theatre Guild is uncertain, but since this portrait was taken by a Chicago photographer, she may have been associated with one of its touring productions at some point. Her adaptation of Simonov's The Whole World Over was directed by Harold Clurman at the Biltmore Theatre in 1947; she performed in Charles Schnee's Apology, directed and produced by Lee Strasberg, in 1943.
