A head-and-shoulders publicity portrait of Maxwell Anderson, author of six plays produced by the Theatre Guild between 1933 and 1942. Along with Robert Sherwood, Elmer Rice, Sidney Howard, and S. N. Behrman, Anderson founded The Playwrights' Company, which produced numerous works on Broadway.
